IN PERSON SESSIONS

Our in-person sessions are customised to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual. They are play-based, interactive, and sensory-focused, designed to suit everyone differently. We observe behaviours and emotions closely, taking a hands-on approach.

Effective communication is key with caregivers as we determine what works and what doesn't, covering all aspects of the therapy process.

Our online sessions are tailored to cater to each individual's specific needs and goals just like our in-person sessions. We closely observe behaviours and emotions through the screen. Effective communication is key as we explore whats working and what not, covering all aspects of the therapy process in the virtual setting.

ONLINE SESSIONS

WHAT ABOUT OUTREACH SESSIONS?

At Move Play Learn, we don’t offer outreach sessions in homes, schools, or community settings. This is an intentional choice to ensure children and families receive the most effective and sustainable support.

Clinic-based therapy offers many benefits. Our space provides a calm and structured environment that reduces distractions and allows children to focus on their goals. We also have access to specialised equipment, from sensory integration tools and therapy balls to adaptive resources, that simply aren’t available in home or community environments. This makes it possible to deliver more targeted and engaging interventions that build core skills such as motor development, sensory processing, and self-care.

Another key reason we work from the clinic is the role of parents and caregivers. We know that therapy is most effective when families are actively involved. Having parents present in sessions enhances parent–child interaction, builds caregiver confidence, and gives you a deeper understanding of your child’s needs and strengths. It also allows you to see strategies in action, practice them with support, and carry them over into everyday life. This leads to better consistency, stronger progress, and more meaningful outcomes for your child.

Finally, focusing therapy in the clinic helps us maintain stronger communication and collaboration between therapist and family. By working together in the same space, we can answer questions in real time, personalise strategies to fit your routines, and empower you to feel confident as your child’s biggest support.

By keeping therapy clinic-based (or online where appropriate), we can ensure your child has access to the right environment, the right tools, and the right support for long-term success.

services & style

As an occupational therapist, I provide a range of specialised interventions to support children. These include behavioral support, sensory processing and sensory diets, emotional regulation techniques, classroom skill development, toilet training assistance, emotional support, and training for parents and caregivers. Each intervention is tailored to the unique needs of the child, promoting their overall well-being and functional abilities.

What might a session look like?

During a session, I might start by engaging the child in a fun warm-up activity, like playing with sensory toys or doing some stretching exercises. Then, we would work on specific tasks that target their individual goals, such as improving fine motor skills or enhancing coordination.

For example, we might play a game where the child has to pick up small objects using tweezers to enhance their hand-eye coordination and fine motor control. Or we might engage in an arts and crafts activity that focuses on improving their grip strength and pencil control.

Throughout the session, I would observe their behaviors and emotions, providing guidance and support as needed. It's important to create a safe and encouraging environment where the child feels comfortable expressing themselves and trying new things.

By the end of the session, we aim to have achieved progress towards their goals while also ensuring that the child had a positive and enjoyable experience.
